NIBC DATA GOVERNANCE

Providing advice on planning and adopting to best practices and technologies for data quality and governance for NIBC Bank.

Challenge
NIBC Bank was preparing a response to De Nederlandsche Bank (DNB) on their investigation report on bank’s credit risk models (PD, LGD and EAD). Trust and transparency in IRB models starts with assurance of quality and governance of data used in these models. A bank-wide approach for Data Quality Framework in-line with ECB guidelines was required.

Work
We advised the bank with the Data Governance and Data Quality part of the response and readiness. We advised the bank’s Chief Data Office (CDO) team in drafting bank-wide Data Quality Framework and Data Quality Reporting. We help build a long-term plan to implement bank-wide of Data Quality Framework in bank’s data platform and IRB systems.

Impact
NIBC Bank has a Data Governance and Data Quality Reporting process which ensures the quality of data for IRB systems. A bank-wide Data Quality Framework implementation is underway to sure the quality of bank’s data assets.
